Aurora I-70 Fuel Spill

On August, 15th, 2022 at approximately 08:33 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a large fuel spill at westbound I-70, west of E-470. Engine 12 arrived to a 3600 gallon tanker with a puncture to the tank, releasing ethanol from its container. The tank was quickly plugged and the tank was offloaded to another transporting container. No injuries were reported.
