Lakewood South Eaton Street Structure Fire
West Metro Structure Fire
At 22:34 on February 26th, 2022 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 900 block of S. Eaton St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that Lakewood Police officers on scene reporting flames through the roof and all residents and animals were out of the house. Engine 7 arrived to small single-story single-family structure with flames from the roof Charlie side and stretched a line for fire attack in the offensive strategy, and Engine 8 secured the water supply to Engine 7. Engine 3 arrived and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 7 to the Alpha side inside for fire attack and checked for extension. Medic 3 assigned to primary search, and Medic 2 as medical group. District 2 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Engine 1 as RIT. Dispatch advised command that LPD requesting medical for a patient with possible smoke inhalation, command requested additional medic to the scene, and the patient was treated on scene. The fire was put under control at 22:49 and crews started overhaul on hotspots. The cause of the fire was the wood stove, which ignited combustibles in the ceiling and attic space, and the fire extended through the roof of the home.
