Old San Isabel Fire

Around 11:00 on November 28th, 2022 Rye Fire Protection District was dispatched to a wildland fire at Old San Isabel Rd. & Table Mountain Rd. Crews arrived to heavy fire and requested mutual-aid from other departments. Several schools and the Mount Baldy subdivision were evacuated. All evacuations were lifted around 17:30. American Red Cross was requested and set-up a reception center for evacuees at the Colorado City Recreation Center in Colorado City. The fire was turned over to night ops to monitor overnight. The fire burned 128 acres and the cause is under investigation.
