61st Annual Spaghetti Dinner
On September 10, 2022, the South Adams County Firefighter’s Association held their 61st annual spaghetti dinner at South Adams County Fire Department Station 23 and Station 28 in conjunction with SACFD and South Adams County Professional Firefighters Local 5124. Organizers spent most of the morning preparing both sites for the mass amounts of spaghetti that would be cooked and served from 1400 to 2000 hours. Off-duty personnel from both South Adams and Platte Valley Ambulance Service spent 6 hours cooking noodles, pasta, and meatballs in single servings and family packs, supplemented by on-duty personnel from Truck 28, Ambulance 28, Engine 23, and Ambulance 23, as well as surrounding firehouses. This event is the association’s largest fundraiser and is a staple in the community. Proceeds from this event go toward the SACFFA 501c3 charitable organization and are used to help support active firefighters, past firefighters, retirees, first responder organizations, and local needs in the community. In 2018 the SACFFA donated funds to replace a neighborhood basketball hoop in Engine 22’s area. For more information on upcoming events, check out the 5280Fire Calendar.
The event is sponsored by various community organizations and companies at different levels each year. The sponsors of this year’s event included: Jim Black Construction, Community Choice Credit Union, Ferrellgas, Rocky Mountain Natural Meats, Adcom 911, Honnen Equipment, Adams County, Dale Mingilton, and many more.
