On July 23rd, 2022 at 12:10 Thornton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 9595 Pecos St. Thornton Communications Center advised units that a shed was on fire about 5 feet from the mobile home. Engine 72 arrived to a working shed fire, secured their own water supply and stretched a 1 3/4 to the Bravo side for fire attack with Medic 72. Engine 41 arrived and pulled a 2nd line to the trailer skirting after reports of possible extension. Battalion 1arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 2 with the primary search of the trailer. The fire was quickly controlled and crews checked the trailer for extension and found none. The cause is unknown and under investigation.
