Westminster Home Explosion

On February 22nd, 2022 just before 02:40 Westminster Communications Center dispatched Westminster Fire Department to a reported explosion in the 7700 block of Knox Court in South Westminster. Crews arrived to a one-story single-family residential that was completely destroyed by an explosion. Crews investigated for anyone that may have been inside the home, and South Metro Fire Rescue was requested with a cadaver dog. Later in the day, human remains were located, and the Adams County Coroner’s office identified the victim which was listed as the owner of the home. Two homes on both sides were also damaged and no injuries were reported from any of those residents. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
