2023 Camp Ember

Camp Ember was held from June 1st to June 3th, 2023, the 4 day, 3-night camp is an immersive free fire based camp offered to young ladies between the ages of 16 to 18 years-old for bold and bright futures. Participants are introduced to the world of firefighting and EMS by mentors consisting of women in the fire service with a wide variety of skills such as auto stabilization and extrication, forcible entry, VEIS (vent enter isolate search), and hydrant operations, hose handling, first aid, and more. The camp is hosted by Arvada Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue. The instructors include women firefighters from throughout the region and16 girls participated this year.
