Public Storage Structure Fire

On May 5th, 2023 at approximately 20:50 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at Public Storage, 565 N. Hanover Way. Dispatched advised responding units that one caller reported hearing screams and though someone may be trapped. Engine 1 arrived on scene and found smoke and flames coming from one of the units. Crews forced open four units and spent about 30 minutes extinguishing the fire and conducting mop up. One person was examined at the scene but declined transport. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
