North Metro Kitchen Fire

At 17:18 on January 24th, 2023 North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a fire reported in the 100 block of Willow Place in Broomfield. A neighbor noticed the curtains inside the home were on fire and called 911. Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the fire, containing it to the kitchen. Firefighters also rescued a dog from the home. No one else was home when the fire started. The cause is under investigation but believed to be accidental, originating in a trash can in the kitchen.
