South Metro Boat Fire

On August 21st, 2023 15:45 South Metro Fire Rescue and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to reports of a boat on fire and the occupants in the water off the Chat Massey Draw at Chatfield Reservoir. Crews arrived to find the boat fully involved and being pushed towards the bank of the reservoir from the high winds. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire from the shore and secured it from continuing to be blown around from the wind. Park Rangers were able to confirm both occupants from the boat were safe and accounted for. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
