Cherry Creek State Park Water Rescue

On July 1st, 2023 at approximately 15:45 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported water rescue at Cherry Creek State Park. Dispatched advised responding units that a boat had sunk in shallow water on the south side of the reservoir and that several people were in the water. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers rescued nine people and transported them to the east boat ramp. No injuries were reported and the partially submerged vessel will be recovered at another time. All nine people were wearing life jackets. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers are investigating the incident.
