Explosion and Building Collapse
On August 10th, 2023 at approximately 18:00 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to a reported explosion and building collapse in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St. Units arrived on scene and found that a portion of a 4-plex multi-family residential dwelling had partially collapsed after an explosion. One person was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Xcel was called to the scene to turn off the gas and electricity. The cause of the explosion is under investigation and at least one neighboring building sustained damage. The American Red Cross was called to assist the occupants of eight residences who were displaced by the blast. One patient was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
