Evergreen Fatal Fire

On January 31st, 2023 around 04:00 Evergreen Fire Protection District and Elk Creek Fire Protection District to a structure fire in the 400 Block of Silver Spruce Lane. Crews worked the fire in -11 degree weather. The fire was contained to one townhome. Smoke detectors alerted many of the adjacent units and residents were able to get out quickly. Unfortunately, one person died in the fire. EFR Fire investigators have determined the fire on Silver Spruce to be accidental and investigating the area near the wood burning fireplace.
