West Metro Apartment Fire

At 09:03 on July 23rd, 2023 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at 42 S. Holman Way in Jefferson County. Jeffcom 911 advised 911 caller reporting smoke on the 1st floor. Medic 7 arrived to medium to large four-story apartment building with nothing showing and started the investigation. Upon follow-up Medic 7 reported light smoke on the 1st floor and the building being evacuated by Jefferson County Sheriff. Engine 5 arrived and assisted with the investigation and Medic 5 assigned as medical. Engine 2 secured the water supply and District 1 arrived and assumed command. Crews did find an issued with a dryer vent that was clogged in the laundry room with a possible small fire and Tower 8 started ventilation on the 1st floor. Crews still investigated the source of the smoke in multiple areas including ventilation chases, boiler and electrical rooms, laundry rooms and all units on the main floor level for a cause and all checked clear.
