At 21:49 on February 18th, 2023 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 800 block of Kipling St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that multiple callers reporting smoke and fire showing from the structure. Engine 3 arrived to a small single-story abandoned gas station with working fire, secured their own water supply and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack with Medic 3 and Medic 2. Engine 2 arrived and assisted with the water supply and Tower 2 assisted with the primary search. District 2 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side in the offensive strategy. Command requested a additional medic to the scene for medical group. Crews got the fire under control quickly and started overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
