West Metro Garage Fire

On February 4th, 2023 at 09:01 West Metro Fire Rescue was alerted to a structure fire in the 300 block of S. Marshall St. in Lakewood. Medic 7 arrived to a small single-story single-family structure with fire from the garage and Engine 3 arrived with smoke showing, pulled 1 3/4 to Alpha side for fire attack and Medic 7 started the primary search on the first floor. Engine 1 secured the water supply to Engine 3 from Alameda Ave. and Lamar St. District 2 arrived and assumed command and assigned Engine 8 as RIT and Medic 3 as medical. Tower 8 arrived and opened up the garage door and firefighters found fire in the attic space above the garage and kept it contained to that area. At least six people were home at the time, all got out without injury. Firefighters located and rescued a dog that was hiding in a bedroom. The fire was put under control at 09:32 and crews started an extensive overhaul and investigation.
