West Metro Attic Fire

At 18:04 on August 18th, 2023 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 3 responded to a electrical hazard in the 100 block of S. Teller St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised 911 caller reporting flames from the attic the call was upgrade to a structure fire response. Engine 3 arrived to a small single-story single-family with nothing showing with evacuations and started the investigation in the offensive strategy. Crews found smoke and hot spots in the attic space and pulled a 1 3/4 on tank water. Engine 7 set-up for the water supply and District 2 arrived in command on the Alpha side. Crews found several small fires in the attic space caused by electrical work being done at the residence. The fire was put under control and crews worked an extended overhaul.
