West Metro Building Fire

On November 20th, 2023 at 15:05 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at an abandoned building in the 700 block of S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood. Jeffcom reported single caller reporting flames coming from one window in the building. Engine 7 arrived to working fire in the Alpha-Bravo corner from a two-story abandoned structure and pulled a line in for fire attack with Medic 7. Engine 3 secured the water supply. Engine 8 arrived and assisted with entry into the building with Engine 7. Engine 1 pulled a 2nd line off Engine 7 and Tower 8 as primary search. District 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 4 as RIT and Medic 8 as medical. The fire was contained to one room in the former office complex.
