Parker Switzer Park Lane Garage Fire
South Metro Garage Fire
At 07:22 on July 24th, 2023 South Metro Fire Rescue received a 911 call reporting a garage fire on Switzer Park Lane in Parker. Moments after being dispatched, Firefighters at Station 41 could already see the plume of smoke from their firehouse at Pine Drive and Mainstreet. The person who dialed 911 saw cars outside and knew the family was home, they alerted the residents who safely evacuated without injuries. Upon arrival, Firefighters observed heavy smoke showing and flames burning through the garage door. Crews advanced two hose lines; one was used to extinguish flames burning in the garage, and the other was advanced inside the home where crews searched for fire extension. Firefighters encountered smoke conditions inside the residence, located the family dog and brought it outside to safety. The fire was quickly controlled, and crews prevented flames from extending into the living space. Fire Investigators determined the fire was accidental, likely caused by an electrical malfunction.
