On April 12th, 2023 at 15:15 Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire at the area of the Loaf ‘n Jug at 2120 Oakshire Lane. Callers reported a fire behind the store that was spreading in the red flag conditions. Engine 38 immediately requested a brush truck but both brush trucks were tied up handling another brush fire in the Arkansas River bottom near the west 4th Street bridge. As Engine 38 was getting close Pueblo Police Department officers arrived on scene and reported an active fire. Engine 38 requested an additional pumper as they arrived on scene and began fire attack. West Park Fire Department offered their Type 6 brush truck to command and responded to help contain the fire. The cause was undetermined at the time of the call.
