On January 31st, 2023 at approximately 08:20 Rocky Ford Fire Department with mutual-aid from Manzanola Rural Fire Protection District and Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control Engine 34 to a structure fire at 20607 County Rd. DD.5. Upon arrival crews immediately identified active flames on the Bravo side of the residence. All occupants evacuated the home prior to the arrival. Firefighters deployed attack lines and ladders to engage initial attack operations interior and exterior to extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to the point of origin caused from faulty wood stove ventilation. All units cleared at approximately 11:30 and no further damage or injuries reported.
