South Metro Grass Fire

On July 11th, 2023 at approximately 15:25 South Metro Fire Rescue and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported vegetation fire near E. Smoky Hill Rd. and S. Piccadilly St. Crews arrived on scene and found a small slow moving grass fire along the equestrian trail southwest of the intersection. Firefighters were on scene about thirty minutes extinguishing the fire and mopping up hot spots. No injuries were reported, no structures were damaged and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
