Sterling I-76 Semi Fire

Sterling Semi Fire

On February 7th, 2023 Sterling Emergency Communications Center (SECC) dispatched Sterling Fire Protection District to I-76 mile marker 118 for a semi fire. Medic 5 arrived on scene and reported a two semi MVA. One semi had significant damage and the tractor had heavy fire involvement. Additional units were requested to respond. Engine 12 arrived on scene and initiated fire attack. The semi’s fluid reservoirs as well as fuel tanks had ruptured and Colorado State Patrol Hazmat was requested. Both drivers were evaluated on-scene and released with minor injuries. Additional information was provided by Sterling Fire Protection District
