Thornton Garage Fire

At 01:47 on December 17th, 2023 Thornton Fire Department, North Metro Fire Rescue District and South Adams County Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 13500 block of Bellaire St. Thornton Communications Center advised units that Thornton Police officers on scene reporting the garage is fully involved and threating other structures. Engine 75 and Medic 75 arrived on scene to a small two-story home with a working fire from the Alpha side garage and pulled a pre-connect for quick attack in the offensive strategy. Engine 73 secured the water supply to Engine 75 and Medic 74 assigned with medical.  Truck 74 pulled a line off Engine 75 to the Alpha side for interior fire attack and primary search. Crews worked fire in the garage that was extending into the main structure. Battalion 62 arrived and assumed command. The fire was knocked with minor extension to the interior of the home. The occupants did evacuate from the home safety from smoke alarms and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
