West Metro I-70 Semi Fire

On September 2nd, 2023 at 15:05 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported vehicle fire on I-70 eastbound near 32nd Ave. Engine 5 arrived to a well involved tractor-trailer fire and requested additional engine for water supply. Engine 6 arrived and assisted with water and fire attack. Crews established a water supply on the other side of the highway with an extended lay.  Crews worked heavy fire before getting the fire under control and started an extended overhaul. All lanes were closed on I-70 eastbound during the fire operations. The truck was carrying ice cream. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
