Adams County Multiple Grass Fires
On June 11th, 2024 at 13:24 Adcom911 dispatched Adams County Fire Rescue to a reported grass fire at W. 66th Place and Decatur St. in the Berkley neighborhood. Engine 12 arrived to a grass fire on W. 67th Ave. with heavy fire and smoke from a shed and debris in the backyard, and started fire attack with a 1 3/4 line. Engine 11 arrived and secured the water supply to Engine 12 and Brush 11 assisted with fire attack. Battalion 11 arrived and assumed command and crews worked the fire which also involved a tree and fence. Crews worked the fire which quickly spread to a large tree, a car, another small structure, and construction materials. During the fire crews found a second fire just east of W. 67th Ave. close to structures by Federal Blvd. and command requested additional units to responded to that fire. Engine 41 arrived to the 2nd fire and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack with large debris on fire close to Federal Blvd. Both fires were put under control with no injuries reported. Fire arson investigators determined the fire was not intentionally set. Additional information provided by Adams County Fire Rescue
