Adams County Trash Fire
At 14:37 on June 25th, 2024 Adams County Fire Rescue Engine 13 and Brush 13 responded to a possible grass fire in the area of W. 53rd Ave. & Washington St. in North Washington. Adcom updated the call to a trash fire at 5350 Washington St. and the fire was upgraded to a working fire response. Engine 13 and Brush 13 arrived to a large outdoor trash fire, pulled a 2 1/2 for defensive strategy and established their own water supply and used their deck gun in the defensive strategy. Battalion 11 arrived and assumed command and Engine 14 started their deck gun and established another water supply to Truck 11. Truck 11 setup with master stream ops and Medic 13 assigned as medical. The fire was put under control several hours later and crews worked on an extended overhaul. No injuries were reported. The cause was unauthorized materials that were put in the trash pile, and those materials ignited and caused the fire.
