Arvada Residential Structure Fire

On February 29th, 2024 at 20:34 Arvada Fire Protection District was dispatch to a possible structure fire in the 10600 block of W. 60th Ave. Jeffcom received reports of the garage on fire with heavy smoke. Rescue 52 advised flames showing from W. 58th Ave. & Oak St. Engine 56 arrived to a single-story residence with a confirmed working fire from the garage area and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire control and search. Battalion 52 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 51 secured the water supply to Engine 56 and Medic 51 assigned with medical. During the search, Rescue 52 found and rescued one victim and the patient transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The victim was the sole individual home at the time of the fire. The fire was placed under control shortly after and crews started overhaul. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
