Aurora Residential Structure Fire

On December 8th, 2024 at approximately 14:20 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at the Village Crossing II Condominium Complex, 17644 E. Loyola Drive. Engine 10 arrived on scene and observed smoke coming from an end unit in the two-story multi-family residential structure. Firefighters were able to extinguish a fire on the second floor very quickly. Crews were on scene about an hour checking for extension into the adjacent unit and ventilating the building. One occupant was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation after they went into the residence to rescue the family dog. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
