Boulder County Technical Rescue
At 12:30 on August 18th, 2024 Boulder County Communications (1800) dispatched Lyons Fire Protection District to St. Vrain Canyon for a motor vehicle collision. On scene, crews found a vehicle off the side of the road with a patient trapped inside. Mutual aid was then requested from Boulder Emergency Squad and Hygiene Fire Protection District. After additional resources arrived on the scene, responders stabilized the vehicle and began low angle rope rescue operations. Once the patient was extricated, they were then airlifted to an area trauma center by Med Evac. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
