On October 31st, 2024 at 11:20 South Metro Fire Rescue and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a gas line that may have been cut in the 4900 block of Lakeshore Drive off Pinyon Drive in Bow Mar. Engine 11 arrived to a medium size single-family residents and started the investigation. Crews found a active leak were contractors had damaged the natural gas line and caused the leak while digging with a backhoe at the rear of the home. Battalion 2 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. The home was unoccupied at the time, due to renovations. Xcel Energy was requested with the Gas Emergency Response team to investigate and it was determined that the underground gas line was not surveyed or marked, prior to the contractors digging at the location. Xcel repair crews were busy at another location, therefore a delay in getting the gas line capped off occurred.

On on Scene:

South Metro: Battalion 1 (Cancelled), Battalion 2 & Engine 11

West Metro: Rescue 10 (Reserve Tower)
