On May 19th, 2024 at 16:28 Byers Fire Protection District and the I-70 Corridor responded to a possible residential structure fire in the 62000 block of E. 2nd Lane in Byers. Brush Engine 71 arrived to a fully involved outbuilding and pulled a attack line in for fast attack in the offensive strategy. The fire was out out at 16:44 and the rest of the response was cancelled. Crews were on scene for an extended time with overhaul and the investigation. No injures were reported and the cause is under investigation.
