On October 28th, 2024 at 13:40 South Metro Fire Rescue Engine 38 responded to a outside fire in the area S. Clarkson St. and E. Tuffs Ave. in Cherry Hills Village. South Metro Fire Communications advised that 911 caller reporting that the fire started as a grass fire and is spreading to the east to a home, and the call was upgraded to a small brush fire. Engine 38 arrived to a slow moving grass fire about 30 feet from a structure and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack. Crews got the fire under control quickly and started overhaul on hot spots. The fire burned one acre in size, a residential home and barn were threatened but sustained no damage. The fire spread in dried vegetation with trees that damaged a fence and trampoline. The cause of the fire was determined to be sparks from nearby construction. No injuries reported in this incident. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
