South Adams Garage Fire

At 18:22 on August 28th, 2024 Adcom dispatched South Adams County Fire Department, Adams County Fire Rescue and Platte Valley Ambulance to a garage fire in the 6600 block of Bellaire St. in Commerce City. Dispatch reported that heavy flames showing spreading to the roof from an attached garage with several gas cans inside. Engine 23 arrived on scene to a small single-story house with heavy fire showing and a working garage fire, started fire attack and secured their own water supply. Engine 22 arrived and assigned with primary search with Tower 24. Engine 14 and Engine 13 assigned with fire attack extending to a neighboring home. Battalion 11 arrived and assumed command and requested a major incident tone. Crews were able to quickly extinguished the fire in the garage. Crews remained on scene to monitor hot spots. The residents were able to evacuate safely and the cause is under investigation. American Red Cross was requested for the displaced residents.
