Denver Station 3 National Register of Historic Places Ceremony
Station 3 Ceremony
The Denver Fire Department held a ceremony for Station 3 as it was recognized and added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 14th, 2024. History Colorado CEO Dawn DiPrince presented Fire Chief Desmond Fulton the plaque which is honoring the station. Station 3 has been in service since 1931. The station is the only single bay house in the department and is currently the oldest and smallest active station. The station was the first and only fire station in Denver to be staffed by all-black firefighters from 1931 to 1957 when the Denver Fire Department desegregated in 1958. The station serves the Five Points and Curtis Park Neighborhoods and is known as the “Pride of the Points”.
