South Metro 2nd Alarm

On January 26th, 2024 at 03:51 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at Sportsbook, 9660 E. Arapahoe Rd. in Greenwood Village. Dispatch advised that caller reporting dark smoke from the roof. Engine 31 arrived to a medium size strip mall with a working fire from the Hibachi restaurant, secured their own water supply and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and confirmed a working commercial fire. Battalion Chief 3 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Tower 35 with the primary search and Tower 32 to the roof. Engine 14 pulled a 2 1/2 to the Alpha side front door. Command requested additional engine and medic to the scene. Firefighters found fire inside two different restaurants and a 2nd alarm was called at 04:33 for more resources. The fires in both businesses were brought under control by 05:20. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fires are under investigation.
