West Metro Garage Fire

At 07:59 on January 14th, 2024 Jeffcom dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a possible structure fire in the 4400 block of S. Independence St. in Quincy Lake Pointe. Rescue 10 arrived to a working fire from a two-car detached garage close to a nearby home and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack with Medic 10. Engine 12 secured the water supply to Rescue 10 and Tower 8 assigned with the primary search of the living structure. District 3 arrived and assumed Independence command on the Charlie-Delta corner with defensive on the garage and offensive on the home. Medic 12 assigned as medical and Engine 8 as RIT. The fire was put under control and crews started overhaul. The family was evacuated by neighbors before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
