Lakewood Chase Street Structure Fire
West Metro Structure Fire
On December 6th, 2024 at 01:25 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 1400 block of Chase St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom dispatch received an emergency call from an on-duty security guard at the nearby Sierra Post Acute rehab center reporting that he smelled smoke coming from a nearby home and had to wake up the sleeping home owner because her house was on fire. Engine 1 arrived to find a working fire at the reported location from a small single-family, pulled a 1 3/4 through the front in the offensive strategy and started fire attack with Medic 11 and Medic 1. Crews quickly knocked down flames within a single bedroom in the home. Only the single bedroom and contents received significant damage, beyond smoke damage. One patient received minor smoke inhalation, while no other injuries were reported. The fire cause is under investigation. Additional information was provided by West Metro Fire Rescue.
