West Metro Brush Fire

On December 17th, 2024 at 20:05 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 8 responded to a outside fire 2525 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that possible building involved and the call was upgraded to a structure fire. Engine 8 arrived and found a working brush fire that was adjacent to a 3-story commercial structure. Within minutes of arrival, crews quickly knocked the fire down and the rest of the response was cancelled. Burned tree branches were cut and removed from the affected area, and mopping up began. The fire was contained to brush and trees only with no extension into the building. The scene was closed at 21:41 and no injuries occurred. The cause is under investigation.
