
Lakewood Van Gordon Street Structure Fire
West Metro Structure Fire
On February 25th, 2024 at 10:29 Jeffcom dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue to a possible structure fire in the 900 block of Van Gordon St. in Lakewood. Engine 2 arrived to a small single-story single-family with active fire from the Charlie-Delta corner and pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack and search. Engine 4 secured the water supply, Engine 6 pulled a 2nd line in and checked the attic for extension. Tower 2 started the primary search and helped one party out of the structure. District 2 arrived and assumed command in the Alpha-Delta corner in the offensive strategy and requested additional medic to the scene. The fire was quickly put out and crews started overhaul. One patient was treated on scene with unknown injuries. The cause of the fire was contact between the exhaust piping from a wood burning stove and the exterior siding.
