West Metro Garage Fire

On December 22nd, 2024 at 08:25 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire at 60 Yukon St. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised multiple callers reporting fire in the garage with everyone evacuated. Engine 3 arrived to a small single-story single-family with a working fire from a detached garage with smoke from the eves and pulled a 2 1/2 line in for fire attack. Engine 7 secured the water supply to Engine 3, District 1 arrived in command on the Alpha-Bravo corner in the offensive strategy. Tower 8 assigned with vent and Engine 8 as RIT. The fire was put under control quickly and contained to the garage only and not the main structure with minor to moderate damage to the garage contents. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
