Single Vehicle Accident
On December 6th, 2024 at 12:30 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a single-vehicle accident east bound C-470 just east of Bowles Ave. Upon arrival, first responders located a pickup truck with a large trailer in tow, that had left the right-side of the roadway, hit the side guard rail and finally resting at the bottom of a small drainage raven. The pickup truck and trailer received extensive damage, as well as the full-sized SUV that was being transported inside the trailer. According to a Colorado State Patrolman, the driver may have fallen asleep and left the roadway. It is also believed that the trailer went air-born for quite a distance, as several tree branches were freshly broken. Two Colorado State Patrol officers and one Jeffco Sheriff officer secured the scene and remained on scene, until safety warning cones were set in place. Later in the morning, two large tow trucks were dispatched from Arvada to extract the vehicle and trailer, while a Colorado State Patrol officer secured the scene.
