West Metro Two-Vehicle Accident

At 14:16 on December 8th, 2024 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision located on W. Bowles Ave. just east of S. Simms St. in Littleton. Upon arriving at the scene, a Jeffco Sheriff’s vehicle had been struck from behind by another vehicle. Both vehicles were blocking the right lane. The impact was strong enough to deploy the steering wheel airbag of the vehicle which struck the deputies car and both vehicles received significant damage. The deputy made mention of very minor whiplash symptoms, yet refused medical treatment. The other vehicles driver was an elderly person, which remained in the vehicle, who also denied medical treatment. The exact cause of the collision is under investigation and scene closed at 14:34.
