On July 6th, 2024 at approximately 13:00 Aurora Fire Rescue and Aurora Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Rangers were dispatched to a overturned kayak and possible water rescue at Quincy Reservoir. Engine 10 confirmed that the kayaker had made it to the south side of the reservoir and was not injured. A park ranger helped retrieve the kayaker’s oar and the kayaker was able to paddle back to the boat ramp safely. Water enthusiasts should keep an eye on the weather, use the buddy system and always wear a life jacket.
