South Adams Garage Fire

On August 18th, 2024 at approximately 14:00 ADCOM 911 dispatched South Adams County Fire Department to a reported residential structure fire at 7001 Cherry St. in unincorporated Adams County. A heavy black smoke plume could be seen for miles. Crews arrived on scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming a garage. Firefighters were on scene about ninety minutes extinguishing the fire, checking for extension and mopping up hot spots. Xcel was requested for a downed power line. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
