I-70 Rollover Accident

At 04:15 on April 10th, 2024 Summit County 911 dispatched Summit Fire & EMS Authority to I-70 just east of the Eisenhower Tunnel for a single-vehicle rollover traffic accident. On scene, crews arrived to a box truck rolled over with the driver self-extricated. Upon further investigation crews discover fuel and oil leaking from the overturned truck and requested the county Hazmat to respond to mitigate the fluids. Once Hazmat arrived on the scene they were able to contain 20-25 gallons of fuel and oil that had leaked out and an additional 40 gallons that remained in the trucks tanks. Once all hazards were mitigated responders remained on scene for the tow company to arrived. The scene of the collision was headed over to Colorado State Patrol.
