Thornton Attic Fire

On May 23rd, 2024 at 16:09 Thornton Fire Department and North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a structure fire in the 2400 block of E. 163rd Place. Engine 77 arrived to a two-story single-family home with a working fire on the Charlie-Delta corner, pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack and secured their own water supply and requested a major incident tone. Engine 66 and Medic 66 pulled 2 1/2 line to the Alpha side. Battalion 71 arrived and assumed command and assigned Engine 75 with the primary search. Engine 73 secured a 2nd water supply and crews found fire in the attic space. Medic 74 set-up for medical rehab and Truck 74 went to the roof with their stick. Command request 3 additional engines and one medic to the scene. The fire was put under control and crews worked on overhaul and the investigation. No injuries reported and the fire cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by Thornton Fire Department
