Dacono Brush Fire

At 18:50 on July 31st, 2019 Mountain View Fire Rescue and Fort Lupton Fire Protection District responded to Hwy. 52 & County Rd. 12 1/2 to a rapidly growing ground cover fire, burning into the nearby cut wheat field and being wind driven to the south, approximately 100′ x 100′ in size.  Engine 2207 and Brush 2237 arrived on scene and the fire tripled  in size while still being driven to he south by moderate winds.  Engine 2207 positioned and pulled hand lines to knock down the fire in the ditch area while Brush 2237 made an attack on the fire origin with fire growing to the west. Fort Lupton Chief 2651 arrived and positioned at the far south end of the fire on County Rd.  17, and Brush 2632 arrived and began fire attack along County Rd. 17 to the south and made a direct attack to the head of the fire from the black. Tender 2642 arrived and positioned for water supply, and Engine 2602 arrived and positioned on County Rd. 12 1/2 for suppression of remaining hot spots.
