The 6th annual MC-1 Honor Run presented by the MC-1 Foundation and Defenders Rocky Mountain Chapter, was held on September 29th, 2019 and starting at Columbine High School in Littleton and ending at W. 91st Ave & Wadsworth Blvd. in Westminster with a car show event at the Hoffbrau Colorado. This years event honored Colorado Springs Police Department Officer Cem Duzel, he was wounded on August 2nd, 2018 when he was shot in the head while responding to a shots fire call. The 40 mile ride route was along C-470 to Hwy. 93 and then to Westminster. MC-1 Foundation started in 2014 as a fundraiser motorcycle ride for the family of Jefferson County Sheriff Sgt. David Baldwin (EOW 01-26-2014), and his radio call sign was MC-1. He was stuck on his motorcycle by a wrong way driver on Hwy. 93. As a result members of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Defenders Motorcycle Club, with the help of the “I Love U Guys Foundation, organized a motorcycle ride to benefit the family of Sgt. Baldwin. In 2015 the ride honored Denver Police Department Officer John Adsit and his family, Officer Adsit was injured while on duty in December of 2014 when he was dragged under a car for over half a block which the resulted in his medically retirement from the department.
