Arvada House Fire

At 01:28 on May 15th, 2016 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire in the 6100 block of Robb St. A 911 caller inside advised that they were trapped. Battalion 51 arrived and sized up a single-family structure with heavy fire showing from the front porch. Truck 56 arrived and started search and Engine 51 deployed their deck gun on the Alpha side. Engine 52 secured a water supply for Engine 51 and pulled a back-up line in and checked for attic extension. After a successful transitional attack, Engine 51 pulled an attack line into the Alpha side front door. Truck 56 crew rescued two occupants from inside the structure needing medical, with one dog. Truck 56 & Engine 52 rescued 3 more patients, one was located in a garage bedroom. Medic 51 assisted with medical and command requested 3 additional medics emergent, and for the ghost engine to the scene. Engine 58, Engine 53 & Medic 56 were all assigned to assist with medical. The fire was declared out at 01:56 and crews started an extensive overhaul. A total of 6 patients were rescued, and transported to local hospitals, sadly two later died. The fire is under investigation.
